New Year, new shoe storage..

I have this shoe storage from IKEA the beginning of 2010 (when I first bought my house). And I have done quite a few changes to it. Start from painting it white... then put chevron white, yellow and blue striped on it...

But after a few months of neglection and all sort of things, it didn't stay pretty as I wanted too. And painting it again will take too much time and hassle for me. So I ended up with a quick and cheap fix.

 Using gift wrappers and clear plastics to cover the top of the shoe storage. It took half hour for me to do it and I know it won't last long but it really elevated the mood that I had at that moment (Christmas mood). I did this in November.

So now fast forward a month later, I am ready to change it again.

 as I expected  you can see the discolorations of the wrapper due to sun and rain.

 
After changing the wrapper:

 Aaah.. neat and tidy.

Surely a good way to welcome the new year with a good nice looking entrance. Very neat indeed!
Even my daughter loves it.

Bedroom gallery wall

I like to decorate my house. So whenever I got the chance (or time) I will try to update here and there. Mostly is on the walls because I want my house to feel like home and not hotel. So here it is.

This is the view from our bed so at the end of each day before sleep we have a good reminder of what is the most important in our life. It is our family. :) 

DIY - Photo with nice borders

How to create nice photo frames ?

Firstly, have a frame, simple one will do.  

Then use a nice pictures as the borders background. Mine I used this brochure from Crabtree and Evelyn as the background.

 

 

 Lastly, select a nice photo of you and your loved ones.

 

The results.. so lovely.

New bedsheet & pillow case

I sew these for my baby Chloe :P

p.s if you notice my crib bumper is one of a kind because I made it myself from thick blanket because Chloe likes to roll around while sleeping.. just like her mommy :)

It is so last year that everyone was having some wall decals..

It is actually a very cheap and easy way to decorate rooms.

Start our day in 2012 with flowers

Today around 6pm, we went to a nursery and spent time choosing plants to buy for our Chinese New Year decor this year. Chloe so happy seeing so many flowers for the first time.
We are having so much fun :) We bought these plants and put it in our living room.
